How to launch a successful start up

Background

Shoot Boutique is a successful start up business with an original concept. By fusing a photo booth with a professional photo studio, owner Rick Schofield has created a unique, affordable photo experience for weddings and other special events.

Brief

Very Own Studio became involved in the Shoot Boutique project at an early stage, having previously worked with Rick on the brand identity of his own photography business. We worked on all elements of the new brand, encompassing; name creation, visual identity, art direction, print design and management, booth design, website, and vehicle graphics.

Solution

Avoiding the expected wedding graphic design styles, we created a simple icon depicting an abstract flower made up of several interlocking circles – a traditional symbol representing promise and eternity. We chose a clean, contemporary and easily read type. We also created a set of fleurons from the icon and applied these across the marketing collateral, almost like confetti.

Shoot Boutique was a success from it’s launch and has since grown and diversified it’s business model. We’re proud of the part we played in launching this successful start up which has now been sold.
