Background

Design Brighton is a network of people from a variety of creative disciplines who believe in the value of design. The network promotes this through a series of regular meetings and events where people can connect, inspire and create.

Events are split into three types. ’Connect’ events aim to bring Brighton’s creative community together, and offer an opportunity to network and meet new people. ’Inspire’ events feature people talking about their work and inspirations, and ‘Create’ events offer the chance for people to come together and make something.

Brief

As a member of the Design Brighton committee, Mark committed to creating the visual identity and working on the positioning and structure of the organisation. He has also designed the posters, flyers and a holding webpage for each event.

Solution

The simple logo incorporates a fusion of the letter I, designed to reflect Design Brighton’s aim of bringing people together. The logo is also flexible in that it can grow to include three sub brands: connect, inspire and create. The brand identity includes a recognisable 27.5 degree line which runs through all marketing materials. The identity design also allows for embossing and letterpress printing, increasing the visual impact of promotional materials.
